STEVE NEFF
Steve founded Neff Tattoo Studio in 2006. He holds a MFA from Ohio University, and has been showing his work in galleries since the mid 90’s.
After graduate school, Steve taught Ceramics at Ohio University Lancaster for 5 years. During that time he started to get heavily tattooed, and eventually learned the craft from an artist with “old timer” values. He learned to make needles, maintenance coil machines, perform proper sterilization, and all the other important elements of being a self sufficient tattooer.
“The two styles that really influence me the most are traditional Japanese and black and grey tattooing. I want my tattoos to be large and readable from a distance like those of Japanese bodysuits.”

Tattooing has been a part of my life since meeting Steve all those years ago. After being behind the scenes for many years, I decided to take a leap and began tattooing in October 2022.
